Emo scene rising

Story of the Year, Sum - 41, Blink -182 and, let’s just sprinkle a touch of SR-71 on there. And I’d like to serve you a delicious dish of “Pull The Curtain.”

A band formed around 2021 to bring you a sound you’ve known and loved. A time when we’d go home to check out myspace notifications and start drama with whoever removed us from the their top 8. The energy we felt watching videos of Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens through our Sony point-and-shoot cameras is exactly what you can expect from Vincent and Richard. They jump around the stage, truly bringing the energy from what we once knew and still enjoy to this day. But wait, let’s not forget the holler that comes from Marc — the duo has a slight mid-tone pitch to their vocals, but it’s the depth in Marc’s screams that drive home the balance.

Recently I filmed a video of PTC at a house party in CT, and when I say this shit was in the middle of nowhere, you couldn’t hear anything from the p.a. or the drums while driving down the road in those backwoods. This was the first show to have Brenden King perform. You know what this dude pulled out? LED Drumsticks… what??? But later on — a few weeks, months? maybe? — the band comes to the Webster Underground and smashes their set of 5 tracks. When I tell you this band is 90% close to completion, they are a colored hair, punk type bass player away from being the ultimate 2007 pop-punk-meets-hard-rock-emo collaboration.

If you ever get a chance to meet Richard after a show, get your Fitbit, Apple Watch, or whatever fitness device you have, because you're going to be running some serious steps keeping up with his bouncy personality. Not only is he the fastest runner in the scene jumping from stage to merch booth but with the best/worst ADHD, he’s also a better Houdini than Houdini himself. One second you’re chatting, then as you turn to look for your friend, he’s on the stage grabbing the mic as if he teleported… and that is just one of the reasons I love his character.

Vincent, guitar for PTC, will most likely be the one that stands inches from you at the front of the stage, 17 different facial expressions with a solid rip on the guitar neck... he paid for 24 frets, he’s using every single one of them! (Maybe 22…not sure, I was to busy watching him absolutely shred.)

But in all seriousness, Vincent is the quite adorable guitarist that may look wild and crazy on stage, but is super humble and approachable off the stage. DO NOT be afraid to say hi on your way out!!

Let’s take a second to get to know Marc. From the crazy heavy screaming, visible veins, and angst behind the mic as he stresses his tone for vox, to his off stage presence, he’s absolutely the person to shock you the most. A standard tank top, some fitted blue jeans, and a trucker cap would have you thinking he’s actually the bassist, but no. He gets on the stage calmly and just “goes with the flow” until he hits the mic and that “opening band” surprises you. When you find yourself staring at a flyer for anything local in CT with a PTC announcement… I’d advise you to check that out. I don’t think they’re going be the disappointment you already are to your family. (Just kidding, but really no, I was the disappointment XD…)

But why does Vincent look so adorable with his little purple guitar?
