and here we are, live…
I’ve always wanted to find a way to create a group, a family, someway or somehow be part of something big. Music has shown me more than I could have ever imagined. Years ago, I would try to DJ in nightclubs, promote them, and even, eh, “dance” in them (or attempt). But in 2017, I was finally staring what would soon be my all time favorite band right in the face.
Back in 2003, I can remember being in my friend Allee’s second floor apartment as she was “coding” and responding to comments. I asked “What is that?” and she introduced me to something that would change the world forever. This site was inspired by 2003 me as I stared at the icon of three people and a site title called “MySpace.” It was there that I would discover Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Hot Topic, and also, Yellowcard, Hawthorne Heights, Paramore, and much much more. I loved how I was able to find these things by people sharing, messaging and just plain comment dropping — “Show some love in the comments” is what my AIM away message would say.
So what does this have to do with the bands? Sharing, posting, and not fighting an algorithm, but instead, as im invited to local shows, I get to post my experience for all to see on a site that truly relies on a community to do what it does best, “Share.”
It’s about 1:30 in the morning as I type this, so I’m going to head to sleep, but hopefully this site finds its way to the eyes, and ears of all that love music the way I do. Good night.
